The women’s movement, the environmental cause, the struggle for justice has lost a voice that never flinched from standing up for victims of exploitation, injustice and violence. Trupti Shah (54), founder of our Indian Partner Organization “Sahiyar (Stree Sangathan)” died on May 26, 2016 in Vadodara after a valiant battle against lung cancer for one and half years. The International Voluntary Service coordinator of KURVE Wustrow, Wilma Raabe, writes in her condolences to Truptis family and the Sahiyar team on behalf of KURVE Wustrow: “Working with Truptiben has been a very enriching experience for us and her dedication to her work and her continous activism for women’s rights has been inspiring on many levels. She united willpower and a sharpe mind with gentleness and endurance.
