Spotlight Webinars

New since 2025: Webinars – Spotlight on …

In May and August 2025, the first two "Spotlight on..." sessions on current training topics related to Do No Harm, Project Management and non-violent conflict resolution took place – each followed shortly afterwards by several days of in-depth training.

In these free webinars, we would like to provide insight into our training work again this year. Our experienced trainers will briefly introduce a specific concept, method or tool and report on their practical experiences.

The next dates are:
Spotlight on... Defending Human Rights I 29.04.  16.00 - 17.30 (CET)
Spotlight on... Environmental Peacebuilding I 09.09. 13.00 - 14.30 (CET)

Webinar "Defending Human Rights" on 29.04.2026

Spotlight on … Defending Human Rights

In this webinar, we will explore the role of Defenders of Human Rights (DHR) in contexts of heightened environmental, social, and political challenges. Drawing from international standards, the session highlights innovative strategies for protection and resilience, with a focus on participatory methods and case-based learning. Participants will be invited to engage with practical tools, legal framework and scenarios that foster reflection on risks, responsibilities, and collective action in defense of human rights.

This concept is part of the Practitioner Training “Defending Human Rights” – in case you want to know more about this in a broader context.

Webinar "Environmental Peacebuilding" on 09.09.2026

Spotlight on … Environmental Peacebuilding

“Environmental Peacebuilding” (EnvPB) is an emerging field dedicated to considering environmental challenges—such as water scarcity, pollution, and climate change—from drivers of disputes into opportunities for conflict transformation, and re-thinking human-nature relations. The trainers will tell you more about the training content, which is structured around four pillars: conceptual understanding, practical tool application, learning from global case, and addressing systemic issues like the decolonial perspective, structural racism, socio-environmental conflicts, and extractive economies.

The course utilizes highly interactive methodologies to ensure participants’ ideas and practical experiences are fully integrated. The approach aims to bridge the gap between academic theory and on the ground practice and to foster listening, exchange, and appreciation of intercultural backgrounds.

This concept is part of the Practitioner Training on “Environmental Peacebuilding” – in case you want to know more about this in a broader context.
