Solidarity with Myanmar

KURVE Wustrow Solidarity with Myanmar

Since more than 10 days the people in Myanmar have been protesting and striking tirelessly. They demand the reinstallment of their democratically elected government. To do this, they use creative and colourful methods of nonviolent resistance.

Daily the military increases the pressure on the protesting people. More than 400 have been arrested. Public assembly is banned. The internet is turned off at night.

The people have organised neighbourhood-committies to protect each other against nightly arrests and intimidation. A violent crackdown on the protests is widely feared - and it has happened before in Myanmar.

We are thinking about our friends and colleagues in the country and send them our solidarity.
