Privacy Policy

Scope

This privacy policy applies to the internet pages operated by KURVE Wustrow – Centre for Training and Networking in Nonviolent Action at www.kurvewustrow.org and to the personal data collected there. For internet pages of other providers, to which reference is made, for example via links, the privacy policy and declarations of these apply.

Responsibility

We are subject to the provisions of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the Federal Data Protection Act and the Telemedia Act . Of course, we comply with their regulations on data protection. Furthermore, we strive for data minimisation. This means that we only store data if it is absolutely necessary.

In contrast to many other websites, we do not "track" the users of our website, for example to send you advertising. We also do not use plug-ins to social media sites with which your data can be sent to companies such as Facebook, Google or Twitter without being asked, so that they can track your surfing behaviour. Nor do we use the Google Analytics tool for website analysis, which enables Google to create comprehensive user profiles.

Below we explain which data we collect, why we store it and what we do with it:

Data Processing on this Website

1. User Data

We respectively our provider automatically collects and stores information in the server log files that your browser sends to us. These are:

  • Browser type/ -version
  • Operating system used
  • Referrer URL (the previously visited page)
  • Date and time of the server request
  •  IP address and host name

2. Cookies and Tracking

In principle, we do not use cookies on our website, nor any other form of tracking (e.g. advertising banners and "web bugs") and no active content ("Java", "Active-X").

An exception is the cookie from Matomo. Matomo is an open source software for the statistical evaluation of page views, which we use to improve our website and our offer. The information generated by the Matomo cookie is stored on our own server in Germany. The IP address is anonymised immediately after processing and before it is saved. You can prevent the installation of cookies by changing the settings of your browser software. 3. Donations

We use personal data that you provide to us within the framework of our donation or membership form exclusively for processing your donations and for issuing a donation confirmation. Processing takes place in accordance with Art. 6, Paragraph 1, Letter b – GDPR.

4. Newsletter / Information:

On the basis of your explicit consent, we will send you our newsletter or comparable information regularly by email to the email address you have provided. (Art. 6, Paragraph 1, Letter a – GDPR)

To receive the newsletter, it is sufficient to enter your email address and your name. If you also provide us with your postal address, you agree that we may also send you information by post. If you register to receive our newsletter, the data you provide will be used exclusively for this purpose.

You can revoke your consent to the storage of your personal data and its use for sending the newsletter at any time. You will find a corresponding link in every newsletter. You can also inform us of your request by using the contact details given at the beginning of this privacy policy.

During transmission, your data is protected by Secure Socket Layer (SSL) encryption.

5. Registration for Events / Application Forms

The personal data collected by us in the event form or application form will be stored electronically and used exclusively for processing the event registration or application. It will not be passed on to third parties.

6. Vimeo Videos

On our website we link to self-created videos that we have uploaded to the video platform Vimeo. As soon as videos are integrated in this way, data is transferred when you visit our site – without the video being played. This includes, for example, the IP address, which falls under the definition of "personal data" and is therefore relevant for data protection. Furthermore, the platforms generally use cookies.

7. Shop "Drupal Commerce"

When you place an order, the data entered is stored on our server. A cookie is stored for the ordering process.

8. Mapbox

The map under "How to get here" is retrieved from Mapbox. However, no cookies are set. The Mapbox Tiles API is a map service provided by Mapbox Inc. (Mapbox). By using the Mapbox Tiles API, information about the use of this website, including your IP address, may be transmitted to Mapbox in the United States.

Transfer of Data to Third Parties

We do not share your personal information with third parties unless you explicitly allow us to do so. Should we pass on data to service providers in the course of contract data processing, these service providers are bound by the GDPR, other legal regulations and by contract to our privacy policy.

As a matter of principle, we do not pass on your data to public authorities. Only if we are required to do so by law or court order will we pass on your data to authorities entitled to receive such information.

Right to Information, Correction, Deletion or Blocking

As stipulated in the General Data Protection Regulation, you have at any time the possibility to request, correct, delete or block the data we have stored about you.

An exception is that we are not allowed to completely delete data for accounting and bookkeeping purposes, as there are legal retention periods. However, if you wish, we can block your data for any other use.
